The Greenwich Classic Film Series is a 6-film & lecture program at the Bow Tie Movie Theater on Railroad Ave, in Greenwich, Ct. We show classic movies on the big screen -- Marilyn Monroe, Marlon Brando, Cary Grant --films from the 30's thru the 70's-- with guest film critics and historians speaking at each screening . We start promptly at 7pm and end around 9:30pm. Our speakers introduce the film for about 5 minutes and then return right after the movie for a more in-depth presentation. We like to say it's the only place you can see these films on a giant screen -- the way movies were meant
to be seen!

Each series includes a general selection of films - comedies, tragedies, film noir, romances, musicals -- you name it , we've shown it. We have an audience of around 500 people who attend each screening. This is our 29th year (2 seasons a year) and we have shown over 350 classic films on the huge Bow Tie screen. We have a varied audience of all ages and interests. Half of our members enroll alone and find it's a great place to meet like-minded people interested in smart, challenging film programs.
